<p>Element (Matrix), a chat app, takes literal minutes to start up. You can take a bathroom break just to launch what should largely be plaintext between folks.</p><p>Embrace leaving proprietary Slack, Telegram, & Discord, but not like this 🙈</p><p>You might say use a lighter client, but the feature parity is so vastly different & the majority are using Element with features unsupported & without fallbacks. These clients still aren’t the fastest tho since the servers are not fast or efficient… I mean the whole eventual-consistency model isn’t a great way to do these kinds of communications.</p>
