<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://emacs.ch/@nebucatnetzer" class="u-url mention">@<span>nebucatnetzer</span></a></span> I think the block style comments might be something of a legacy thing since I never saw it _except_ in the syntax highlighting exception, but that language-defining exception was being heavily used in a lot of situations in Nixpkgs which can really help reading/writing files. </p><p>No `use flakes` was since they aren’t using Flakes for dependency pinning… just a convenience thing which I didn’t understand. It’s not a huge deal but can make custom setups very tricky now that the env is tracked &amp; building more atop it to try to include another file is more engineering that I don’t know adds much when it’s easy to echo &quot;use nix&quot; &gt; .envrc when you enter a project like this (or &quot;use flake&quot; in others).</p>
