<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@kev" class="u-url mention">@<span>kev</span></a></span> Wow. I&#39;ve been having thoughts lately... I run an instance that&#39;s here for off-road and outdoor types. Through that instance i&#39;ve connected with a new admin who has started his own instance for outdoors and firearm enthusiasts. </p><p>He has not received anything like a warm welcome here on the fedi. maybe you can guess why. </p><p>I worry that he&#39;s going to give up, or just get defederetated into oblivion. </p><p>It&#39;s like the fedi is only truly welcome for those who don&#39;t disagree with certain principles. and that&#39;s a bit sad. i understand the desire to keep low value speech and hate speech at bay. but i sometimes think we&#39;re looking for it. </p><p>I hope you find peace, and i hope you can find a way to remain on the fediverse. We&#39;re better when everyone feels welcome.</p>
