@Moon@shitposter.club reading old forum posts, it seems like it was always ctrl+click, I just had a false memory if anything you'd expect context menus to be less acceptable now since that's been the trend on mobile, and Apple would presumably like to unify the experience across their lineup how long ago were they discouraged? I don't remember a shortage of them back when I last used macos in the Snow Leopard days
