<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@shriramk" class="u-url mention">@<span>shriramk</span></a></span> Years ago, Alberta didn&#39;t allow adding color to margarine (I think this was due to the butter lobby) - the yellow color was in a separate packet that you could mix in with an egg beater. <br />Without the color, the margarine looked like an unappetizing block of lard - a ghastly shade of white. (This was in the days when margarine was believed to be healthier than butter, besides being cheaper)</p><p>(BTW, in Japan, &quot;Bulgarian&quot; yoghurt is sold with a separate packet of sugar; I very much appreciate being able to taste the yoghurt without any sweetener)</p>
