I wasn't trying to state that what industry requires is at odds with academia. My intent was to merely highlight that there is a clear need in industry and that academia won't be able to satisfy that need, if we don't have (successful) professors in this field anymore. (Probably too complicated formulation for elementary supply vs demand argument).</p>
