<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@whitequark" class="u-url mention">@<span>whitequark</span></a></span> my guess is that we just don't have very many optimizations driven by partial undefs. </p><p>like, if you read undef and multiply by 2 you get the set of evens... but how many optimizations care about an input that is an indeterminate even number?</p>
