<p>I am currently in a position to write a garbage collector. I have never actually written a garbage collector before, despite working *on* garbage collectors professionally on multiple occasions and having, uh, published work on the subject actually. I am really looking forward to this. Anytime this week I have a bad-feeling day, I'm just going to be burning with irritation thinking: *I could have spent today writing a garbage collector*.</p>
