<p>What I'm listening to today: "danaus plexxipus", Beek</p><p>Due to historical distribution methods, the "tracker sound" is bound up with low-fidelity samples. When a tracker song uses high-rate samples, it sounds like a magic trick.</p><p>This 2019 funk cruise produces fun cognitive dissonance by mixing CD-quality soul drums (the file is 2.4 MB for a 1 minute song!) with pure chiptune on every other instrument. You just don't expect those sounds together.
