<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@whitequark" class="u-url mention">@<span>whitequark</span></a></span> in the poly community i used to be in the basic unit was the "household", which was a commune-like group of five people who could collectively afford a house in the bay area, some of which may at some point been but were not necessarily also in a polycule. the houses actually had names, like boats, and people would refer to the households as proper nouns</p>
