<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://recurse.social/@stephenrkell" class="u-url mention">@<span>stephenrkell</span></a></span> I&#39;d say I mainly teach experienced programmers who want to learn something interesting, but without having to enroll in graduate school. </p><p>I consistently spend about 25 weeks of the year actively teaching. The rest is spent &quot;messing around&quot; (although that includes course prep). I never try to profit from the messing around.</p><p>I like this model because it&#39;s straightforward. I teach a class. You pay me. It ends when the class ends. I do whatever I want outside of that.</p>
