I was so miserable in my academic existence I brought a resignation letter to my tenure review meeting--although unneeded since tenure was denied (whew).</p><p>Took an exit with no real plan. Muddled around for a year, but met my wife. Fell into some corporate training which morphed into my current gig of teaching and messing around. It's not academia, but it suits me and it somehow seems to work.</p>
