If you stuff datetimes into a pandas data frame then I think you end up with those ints, but with the metadata properly saying these are timestamps. And you don’t get into things like “this lib reports at milliseconds, this other one reports at seconds” (a real bug I’ve hit leading to some odd data)</p><p>Of course in context just using ints can be safe, with care.</p><p>As with all performance choices: measure, measure, measure.</p>
