It seems to the related to the cases under the 'Not smart enough' heading in <a href="https://blogs.gnome.org/shell-dev/2024/09/20/understanding-gnome-shells-focus-stealing-prevention/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">blogs.gnome.org/shell-dev/2024</span><span class="invisible">/09/20/understanding-gnome-shells-focus-stealing-prevention/</span></a></p><p>If I have an existing Files window open at ~/Downloads and click the button in Firefox I get the notification immediately. If instead Files is not running, or there is no window open at ~/Downloads then a new window is opened, and it gains focus as desired.</p>
