<p>Over on <em>the fediverse</em> (or at least the German speaking part of it) there’s a bit of a challenge going on: post 20 books that shaped you, but only their covers without any comments. Now of course I won’t be able to skip the comments, so here they are. (Think of them as the DVD extra to <a href="https://nona.social/@dominik/112654519758100066">the post</a>.)</p><p><a href="https://openlibrary.org/books/OL50989234M/Gro%C3%9Fer_Tiger_Und_Christian">Großer-Tiger und Christian</a> by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritz_M%C3%BChlenweg">Fritz Mühlenweg</a> is probably the book that I have read the most often. Written in the late 40s it tells the story of a Chinese and a German boy who venture into the Gobi desert with one of the first trucks. It’s full on intrigue, adventure, danger and friendship, written in a wry humor and it appealed to me <em>a lot</em> when I was at the main characters’ age and it still retains a lot of its magic years later.</p><p>I might just need to re-read it again. <em>Da gibt es keine Hilfe.</em></p><p><a rel="tag" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://lostfocus.de/tag/20books/">#20books</a> <a rel="tag" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://lostfocus.de/tag/fritz-muhlenweg/">#FritzMühlenweg</a> <a rel="tag" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://lostfocus.de/tag/groser-tiger-und-christian/">#GroßerTigerUndChristian</a></p>
