<p>For some (not everyone, don’t @ me), I think Mastodon seems “harder” or “more boring” because it doesn’t manipulate people’s attention as much as the advertising-inflected web sites do. There’s just no point, it’s not here for maximizing eyeballs. </p><p>And when *people* here try to, Mastodon gives you tools to keep their fingers outta your head. As a result, Mastodon delivers far fewer dopamine (or adrenaline) hits per minute than Twitter, Meta, or Blue Sky.</p>
