<p>shower thought: it's kinda wild that I can think of a team of three or four people that, given a reasonable budget and maybe two years to work on it, could make an electronic calculator where every single component (passives, silicon, display, buttons, etc.) was manufactured from raw materials by them.</p><p>(solid-state, too. electromechanical would be much easier)</p>
