<p>we had a white satin moth fly in through the front window yesterday. really big one, too, I heard it flapping into the light bulb. they navigate by keeping the moon in their peripheral vision, so lights confuse their sense of direction.</p><p>they like standing on warm things when it&#39;s dark &#39;cos they can&#39;t fly if they get too cold overnight, so I turned the light off, waited a bit, then offered my hand as a perch. it happily wandered on, and I took it back outside to go hang out.</p>
