<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@hannesm" class="u-url mention">@<span>hannesm</span></a></span> I'm not much of a fan of overusing "UNIX philosophy" (there's too much debate about what even /is/ UNIX philosophy and there were many mistakes within UNIX), but GNU/tar is definitely as far away from it as it could be. There's also:</p><p>- `--to-command` or <br />- `--checkpoint-action=ACTION`</p><p>But then again, `tar` itself isn't part of UNIX (anymore)</p>
