<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://hachyderm.io/@fasterthanlime" class="u-url mention">@<span>fasterthanlime</span></a></span> One of my first big projects in grad school was to build a dataflow analysis tool in valgrind, inspired by Perl's taint mode. I followed the naming convention of valgrind's other plugins like memcheck, and called it taintcheck.</p><p>I didn't find out about the other meaning until I was preparing a conference presentation and tried doing image searches for "taint" 🤯 💀</p>
