<p>I don’t understand why these Chinese DAPs that have fairly good specs make these three mistakes</p><p>1. Building their own OS instead of just adapting RockBox knowing a community would support it when EoL happens for a device. Building from the ground up seems a lot harder than an OS that already exists &amp; adding some things like better Bluetooth + DAC support would help everyone</p><p>2. Running the Linux kernel &amp; not posting their kernel changes to comply with the GPL-2 license</p><p>3. If running the Linux kernel, why on Earth are the native file systems stripped? So you strip out everything but ext4 &amp; f2fs like Android, fine, but they want all want you to use FAT32, NTFS, or extFAT which the latter two are out of kernel while offering worse performance on a Linux system. Seems like a massive L for no reason. f2fs can even save the life of your microSD card so why we skipping out on this?</p>
